Dear Fellow Investors and Friends:
Yesterday, my church celebrated “Great Commission Sunday.” * We were blessed to hear from Tim, a worker in north and central Asia.
Tim gave some startling statistics of the extremely low numbers of Christians, as well as the high numbers of Muslims, Orthodox, and Buddhists in that part of the world. He also shared some of the stories of lives changed by the power of God. One key aspect in the lives of those transformed is access to the gospel. Those of us who live in North America and other “reached” portions of the world may not often think of the easy access to the good news of Jesus we enjoy. It was deeply moving to consider the desperate need for a miracle of God in the lives of people in north and central Asia.
One thing you may not hear much about is the unique sacrifices our missionaries and their families make, and the dangers they face. Please remember to pray for Tim, his family, and all our missionaries who find themselves more and more in these tremendously difficult circumstances for the sake of the gospel.
In the same service, we prayed over our church’s small team of workers who head out to Cambodia next Sunday for two weeks of service. Cambodia is only slightly better off than north and central Asia when it comes to the number of believers and access to the gospel.
In both cases, we were challenged to be a part of the C&MA’s concentrated efforts to “push back the darkness” in these very dark places of the world.
Thank you for investing in Alliance churches (including mine) that are actively engaged in pushing back the darkness in their communities and the uttermost parts of the earth.
God will have His way, and He will have people from “every nation, tribe, people, and language” in His Kingdom. May we continue to pray, give, go, and invest as partners with Him!
